Colin attended the University of Toronto, where he received a degree in cinema studies and philosophy. During his time in Toronto, Colin collaborated with urban‐music talent including Glenn Lewis and Divine Brown. He co-wrote and produced 10 songs on Ray Robinson’s Juno-nominated album, "What It Is", and has cuts on the BrassMunk disc "Fewturistic" (including How ‘Bout feat. Moka Only). Colin also has upcoming releases by Once Degrassi: The Next Generation star and now rapper Drake, Kardinal Offishall, Divine Brown, Saukrates and Frank n Dank. Recently several US artists have sought material from Colin including former Blackstreet member Chauncey Black (Universal/Motown), Sean Price and Brick and Lace (Geffen).
Brassmunk released a number of independent singles in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and released their first EP, "Dark Sunrise", in 2002 on 54th/Virgin Music Canada. The following year, "Dark Sunrise" was re-released worldwide on Battleaxe Records as an LP, and included their previous independent releases. "Dark Sunrise" was nominated for Best Rap Recording at the 2004 Juno Awards. Their follow-up album, "FEWturistic", was released on March 20, 2007, and featured the singles "Take It Easy" and "Drive Me Crazy". In 2008, the album earned them another Juno nomination.
