It is a newly established state run University under Indira Gandhi University Meerpur act no. XXIX of 2013. Earlier, it was a regional center of M.D. University Rohtak since 1989. The university is situated in a 110 Acres of lush green area with pollution free environment in Meerpur village on Rewari-Lokri road. The main entrance in university is through the Rao Tula Ram Gate. University starts functioning w.e.f. 13 Sept. 2013 the day Sh. Mohinder Kumar, IAS (Retd) resume office as founder Vice Chancellor of the University who served the University since 13 Sept 2013 to 21 July 2015. At present, Prof.(Dr.) SP Bansal, is the Vice Chancellor of University and Dr. Madan Lal Goel is Registrar of University. Prof. R S Pandey is the Dean of academic affairs and student welfare. Prof. R S Sangwan is designated as Controller of Examination and Sh. Abhey Singh Dhaniwal is looking after the Finances. The university has implemented the Choice Based Credit System from 2016-2017 session.
