Udhayabhanu Maheswaran is a Tamil film actor and director. He directed two Tamil films: "Naalai" (2006) and "Chakkara Viyugam" (2008). As an actor, he is best known for his portrayal of Vishwanathan in STAR Vijay Television series "Office".
Along with Vasanth, he was instrumental in organizing "Netru, Indru, Naalai", a stage musical that marked the first theatre production, with numerous other artistes, to aid The Banyan, an organization that rehabilitates women and children with mental illness.
In 2005, he was a part of Tamil director Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai, an event which sought to raise funds for The Banyan, a voluntary organisation which rehabilitates homeless women with mental illness in Chennai.

Saraswathi of gave the film 3.5/5 stars, praising the direction, screenplay, and performances of the cast members. She concluded by saying that "Indru Netru Naalai" is "worth watching". Behindwoods stated in its review that "Indru Netru Naalai" was "A well executed sci-fi film". The movie is also widely applauded for its minimal but perfect execution of visual effects, handled by . M. Suganth of "The Times of India" gave it 3.5/5 and appreciated the director's way of handling the film's theme.
Prior to its 13 January 2013 release, filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj filed a suit against the film stating that it used the same storyline as his 1981 film "Indru Poi Naalai Vaa". He also accused the filmmakers of not acquiring proper permission and falsely claiming to have acquired the rights from his film. It was later announced that the film, upon orders of a high court, would carry an explanatory card in its title sequence, giving credit to both Bhagyaraj and his "Indru Poi Naalai Vaa" story. The satellite rights of the film were sold to Sun TV.
