Rao was actively associated with a large number of cultural organisations. He has in his earlier days produced, acted and directed many Telugu films, notable among them being "Mangalasutra", "Niraparadhi" (1951), "Nirdoshi", "Drohi" and "Soudamini".
Alaigal (; ) is a 1973 Tamil film produced and directed by C. V. Sridhar. The film stars Vishnuvardhan and Chandrakala in the lead roles. It was the first Tamil film of Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan. This film was dubbed in Telugu as "Lakshmi Nirdoshi".
Nirdoshi (English title: "Blameless") or Niraparadhi (Tamil title) is a 1951 Telugu/Tamil film produced and directed by H. M. Reddy. Mukkamala Krishna Murthy played role of hero whereas Anjali Devi played double role. The Rai Brothers (P. L. Rai and Viswanatha Rai) worked as Cinematographers behind the camera and Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao as Music director.
In 2013 she appeared in "Jagan Nirdoshi" in Telugu which was made under Padmalaya Films and in "Mahanadhi" in Kannada, which was her first heroine centric film. She was then seen in "Nenem…Chinna Pillana?" in which she played a NRI again. She is currently filming for a Telugu comedy film, "Saradha", directed by RP Patnaik, while her Kannada films "Agarja", opposite Jaggesh, and "Rebel" which film has Aditya in the lead, and the Telugu film, "Once Upon a Time" have been finished.
Chadda made her acting debut in a supporting role as Dolly in Dibakar Banerjee-directed 2008 film "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!". Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN described her as a "revelation " in the film. She appeared in the 2010 comedy film "Benny and Babloo" as Fedora. Taran Adarsh reviewing for Bollywood Hungama stated that Chadda "stand[s] out with confident portrayal" and Komal Nahta from Koimoi stated that she lend[s] "fine support" in the film. In the meanwhile, a Kannada movie in which she had acted, titled "Nirdoshi" was released in 2010 after a delay of almost 3 years.
H. M. Reddy gave him chance to play a small role in "Nirdoshi" in 1951 and as his hero for "Pratigna" in 1953. He has acted in 450 films and in about 100 films as hero, whereas in others as different character roles. They include some popular roles in films like "Jayasimha" (1955), "Shri Krishna Pandaviyam" (1966), "Guruvunu Minchina Sishyudu" (1963), "Lava Kusha" (1963), "Nartanasala" (1963), "Pandava Vanavasam" (1965) and "Muthyala Muggu" (1975). His last movie was "Pandurangadu" with Balakrishna and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao in 2008.
