is a ladybug-like Insect Digimon who is the witty partner of Izzy Izumi, whose intelligence he admires. When Angie and Jeremy mistake Omnimon, Imperialdramon, and Susanoomon for DigiFuses, Tentomon corrects them about their Digivolution methods.
When the DigiDestined are attacked by Andromon (then under the control of a Black Gear), he finds that data in the Digital World is actually alive. Izzy also discovers a program on his computer which leads to Tentomon digivolving into his champion form, Kabuterimon. Kabuterimon then frees Andromon from the black gear's control by destroying it with his "electro shocker" attack. Soon afterwards however, Izzy and Tentomon become separated from their group as Devimon divides File Island into separate fragments. Izzy remains with Tentomon during this time until they reunite with the rest of their group at The Primary Village after protecting T.K. from Leomon who had been under the control of a Black Gear at the time. Soon afterwards, Izzy and the others learn about their role as the DigiDestined and subsequently defeat Devimon after T.K.'s partner Digimon, Patamon Digivolves to Angemon.
is a -like Insect Digimon who is a naturally friendly Digimon with carefree way of life. His signature attack is "Super Shocker" ("Petit thunder" in Japanese version). Originally Motimon when he and Izzy met, Tentomon assumed his current form to protect Izzy from a Kuwagamon. Tentomon is known to be highly intelligent, curious, and polite. Although he admires and is fascinated by Izzy's curiosity for everything he doesn't understand, he is also slightly baffled when Izzy chooses to look at his laptop instead of socializing with the other children, and occasionally becomes annoyed when Izzy chooses to investigate mysteries rather than solve more immediate problems.
Depending on the version of the game being played, players automatically begin with whichever lead Digimon is exclusive to their version, plus two Digimon from the respective packs chosen. If the player is playing Dusk, the starter Digimon is Lunamon, and the Digimon from the packs are: Gaomon and Solarmon (Balanced pack); BlackAgumon and Goblimon (Attack pack); Tentomon and Keramon (Defense pack); or Bearmon and Palmon (Pretty pack). If the player is playing Dawn, the starter Digimon is Coronamon, and the Digimon from the packs are: Agumon and Salamon (Balanced pack); Guilmon and SnowAgumon (Attack pack); Muchomon and Monodramon (Speed pack); or Kudamon and Biyomon (Japanese pack).
After Devimon's defeat, The DigiDestined are contacted by a man named Gennai who instructs them on the next phase of their adventure. When a Kuwagamon attacks the DigiDestined, Piximon appears and saves them. Whilst training with him, Izzy finds his "Crest of Knowledge". A short while later, Izzy receives a message from a Digimon in danger, claiming to know where the last crest can be found. Motivated by this, the DigiDestined set off to free the imprisoned Digimon, Datamon but as they are trying to free him, Etemon attacks them. As they try to fend him off, Datamon escapes, taking Sora and Biyomon along with him. Izzy is quick to point out that Sora may still be located somewhere in the pyramid, which ultimately leads to Tai rescuing her. After Etemon's defeat, Tai and Agumon are transported back to the real world, prompting Izzy and the other DigiDestined to split up and find him. During this time, Izzy and Tentomon end up in Vademon's dimension and Izzy is tricked into giving up his curiosity, causing his mind to become an accepting one that does not question anything. Tentomon tries but fails to snap Izzy out of it and slowly regresses until he reverts to his weakest form, Pabumon. This brings Izzy back to his senses and allows Pabumon to Digivolve into his ultimate form, MegaKabuterimon who then destroys Vademon's dimension and defeats the evil Digimon himself.
About six months after the DigiDestined departed from the Digital World, Izzy discovers a Digi-Egg on the internet that has been infected by a virus. He rushes over to Tai's apartment to inform him about the newly hatched Digimon, Kuramon. Tai and Izzy monitor it and are astonished as Kuramon consumes large amounts of computer data to rapidly digivolve to Keramon. Gennai appears in a transmission from the Digital World, warning them about the dangers of his growth. He dispatches Agumon and Tentomon to stop the Digimon. Keramon digivolves into Infermon and easily defeats the Champion and Ultimate forms of Tentomon and Agumon. Izzy realizes that Keramon completely skipped over his Champion form and digivolved straight to his Ultimate level. Tai tries to alert the rest of the DigiDestined, but only succeeds in enlisting the help of Matt, T.K., Gabumon and Patamon. Agumon and Gabumon Warp Digivolve to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, prompting Infermon to Digivolve into Diaboromon. A massive amount of emails are sent to Tai and Izzy from people around the world who are watching the battle from their computers. This causes WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon to slow down and they are severely injured in the fight. Diaboromon begins to duplicate himself at an exponential rate and infects computers at the Pentagon, launching two nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles: one headed for Colorado, the other for Tai and Izzy's neighborhood in Odaiba, Tokyo. Refusing to lose hope, Tai and Matt's bond with their Digimon allow them to become digital and enter the internet to comfort WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. Tai and Matt remind them about all the people around the world watching them and sending emails with encouraging words. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon are revived by the collective power of the millions of children around the world and DNA Digivolve to Omnimon. Omnimon easily defeats all of the Diaboromon copies, leaving only the original. With one minute left until the missile impact, Diaboromon is still too fast for them to hit. With seconds left on the clock, Izzy redirects the incoming emails to Diaboromon to slow him down. Omnimon destroys Diaboromon by stabbing him through the head just in time and the nukes are disabled just before detonation. However, the same virus that created Diaboromon tracks down Willis and corrupts Kokomon.
The second story occurs a few months after the battle against Apocalymon. It shows many of the DigiDestined, but primarily focuses on Tai, Matt, Izzy, and T.K., as they end up saving the day when Diaboromon, a computer virus Digimon, raises havoc all over the world through the Internet, initially through consuming data, and then begins searching the American networks for a Digidestined called Willis. The evil Digimon initially defeats Agumon and Tentomon by Digivolving to his higher levels rapidly, but a second confrontation sees Diaboromon pummeled by Wargreymon and MetalGarurumon. However Tai's internet connection becomes flooded with emails from various children across the world, causing Wargreymon to freeze at a critical moment, allowing Diaboromon to defeat both Digimon and escape. Diaboromon then begins to copy himself rapidly, and infiltrates the American military to fire two nuclear ICBMs, one aimed at Willis in Colorado, and the second at the neighborhood of the Japanese Digidestined. Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon chase the copies of Diaboromon to another part of the internet, hoping to locate and destroy the original, as the copies will perish and the nuclear strike will stop. However, the two Digimon are hopelessly outnumbered and are almost killed by the repeated attacks of the many copies. Tai and Matt, desperate to help their partners, actually phase into the Internet and miraculously revive them. The hope of the many emails of the children watching the battle causes both Digimon to merge, evolving into Omnimon, one of the most powerful entities of the Digital World. Omnimon quickly obliterates the copies, but the original proves too fast to hit, until Izzy comes up with the idea to redirect the children's e-mails to slow Diaboromon down to a crawl, allowing Omnimon to finish him off seconds before the missiles hit. As the crisis ends, the ICBM aimed at Japan deactivates and lands harmlessly in Tokyo Bay. "Our War Game!" appears to be inspired by the 1983 film, "WarGames" and inspiring its own director Mamoru Hosoda to make "Summer Wars".
